Do you want to:
- Cope more effectively with stressful situations;
- Feel better able to deal with conflicting emotions;
- Alter self-defeating patterns of behaviour;
- Stimulate personal growth and development?
Who is Counselling for?
People from all backgrounds may find counselling helpful at
particular times in their life; such as during a period of crisis, or life changes. These
can lead to anxiety and can cause people to feel:
- lonely, anxious or depressed;
- dissatisfied with their work, or with the quality of their
life and relationships;
- isolated or helpless;
- in need of understanding and support;
- tense and anxious in their marriage or experience difficulties
with their children;
- overwhelmed by a personal crisis or a major change of
circumstances
- a need to stimulate personal growth and development
However, some people may feel content with their lives but
might use the confidentiality, support and encouragement offered by counselling to enhance
their understanding of work and personal relationships.
Concern Counselling
Whatever your circumstances, counselling offers a
confidential and supportive service to focus on your needs and enable you to make the
changes you want.
Counselling sessions take place weekly and are available day
and evening. We offer both short term and open ended counselling.
Our counsellors use the psychodynamic model, which enables
people to become more aware of how past events and feelings influence present ones.
Ethical Code
As an organisational member of the British Association for
Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Concern is bound by its Code of Ethics
and also its Complaints Procedure.
